The June 18th 1989 Shoreline first set performance is stunning, just give a listen to Brent Mydland kickin-up Foolish Heart a notch or two, the six cylinder drive of Jack Straw and of course this energized version of Hey Pocky Way!

Also of interest this evening were the six first set song selections that would be considered set-openers on any other given day.

Somehow, someway the "Bearesque" electricity this evening jumped from the stage onto the audience and vcs/vs.

Shoreline was for the most part an evening video screen "drive-in" movie theater. So a soon-to-be Solstice peek-a-boo first set in the daylight > twilight was both unique and indeed a treat.

This evening along with the May 6th Frost and the December 30th Coliseum shows were probably the best Bay Area performances of what has been chronicled a historic year.

Unfortunately, many of the other 1989 Bay Area shows paled in comparison to the classic fall 1989 Eastern Seaboard tour from that year.
